Dear All,
We are interested in sending young students for a phD work stage of
several
years in vibrational spectroscopy- molecular structure and interactions.
Waiting for news, I would like to thank you in advance for your advices
and the eventually offers.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Ioan Bratu

Subject: Two postdoctoral positions in Helsinki
Two postdoctoral positions in the University of Helsinki, Finland
Two postdoctoral positions funded by the European Community are
available in the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry for about two years
starting immediately. The monthly salaries are about 2520 Euro. One of
the successful candidates is expected to carry out experimental research
in the field of laser spectroscopy, particularly developing new
spectroscopic laser methods for molecular overtone state studies. The
other position is in the field of theoretical and computational
molecular spectroscopy, particularly developing new Hamiltonian models
for highly excited vibrational states including large amplitude
problems. Experience in electronic structure calculations and in
computer programming is also useful. For some of our publications in
laser spectroscopy see particularly J. Chem. Phys. 113, 1795 (2000) and
110, 1424 (1999), and in theoretical spectroscopy Adv. Chem. Phys. 104,
41 (1998) and J. Chem. Phys. 112, 3121 (2000). For other publications
see our web page. The Helsinki molecular spectroscopy group has
excellent experimental and computational facilities. The group consists
of about 10 people. Our laboratory is located in the Chemistry
Department building in the new science campus area. Helsinki being the
capital offers many cultural events all year through. Finland is
particularly attractive due to its wild nature, which includes tens of
thousands of lakes and islands. There are excellent possibilities both
for summer and winter sports activities. Under the terms of the EC
programme, the young postdoctoral researchers, who are successful
applicants for the supported positions, must be aged 35 years or less,
and must be nationals of a Community member state or a state associated
with the EC programme (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, the Republic of
Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Liechtenstein,
Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland).
