The proceedings of the 2nd International Workshop on Multi Agent Based
Simulation -- MABS-2000 -- has been published by Springer as volume 1979
in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series. All of the
papers were reviewed and most were revised after the workshop. The
published proceedings include an editorial introduction drawing on
discussion at the workshop as well as several additional papers.
The volume as a whole -- like the workshop itself -- is intended to
indicate the scope for multi agent based simulation as a means of
describing and analysing big systems with many agents and dense
interaction among those agents. Social systems are clear examples.
Consequently, much of the workshop discussion (reported in the
editorial introduction) and a number of the papers are intended to be
useful in assessing and guiding the use of social simulation not only as
a form of social analysis but also as an element in the development of
software engineering for large, complex agent based systems.
The price is DM68 (Springer do not specify the price in euro!).
Paul Davidsson and I, as editors of the volume, hope you find it
enjoyable and useful.
