A 'ONE-STOP' FOR INFORMATION AND ADVICE ON RESEARCH
SUPERVISION.
I am pleased to be able to tell you about a new development.
Although there is a great deal of information and advice on the web
which
could simplify and enhance the training and development of research
supervisors, locating such information and advice can take time and
effort,
as well as an appreciation of what to look for. To simplify matters,
there
is now a single site, a gateway, through which other useful sites can be
accessed directly. It is for all fields of study.
Navigation is along any of the following routes:
* Via KEYWORDS to identify sites of interest
* As INDUCTION MATERIAL for new supervisors
* As a checklist of TOPICS on supervision and policy development, with
related links
* Via KEY HIGHER EDUCATION WEBSITES and links from them
* Exploration of DISCUSSION FORA
* Exploration of ways of ACCREDITING SUPERVISORS
* SUGGESTIONS
The address is:
http://www.iah.bbsrc.ac.uk/supervisor_training (note the underline
between
'supervisor' and 'training')
