The simplest known version of the formula is that the theoretical radar or visual horizon range (in Nautical Miles) is 1.23 times the square root of the aerial or observing height (in feet). For the comparable range between two elevated positions, add their two heights together and use as a single figure.
Hope this is of use to somebody.
