Politics and Public Memory in Germany and Romania
(1930-1960)
D. Phil Scholarship
Applications are invited for a three-year scholarship to enable a well-
qualified graduate with a knowledge of Romanian and German to undertake
historical/political research at the Centre for German-Jewish Studies,
University of Sussex, relating to the artist Arnold Daghani. The successful
applicant, who will be registered for a D. Phil at Sussex, will receive an
annual grant of £7500 plus the cost of fees. S/he will be working under the
supervision of Professor Edward Timms on an interdisciplinary project
funded by the Leverhulme Trust, which will analyse the interactions between
art and politics during the Second World War and the early Cold War period.
