Forthcoming Conference - call for papers (deadline 30th September 2001)
Setting the Agenda: Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies in Higher
Education
24 to 26 June 2002, Manchester Conference Centre
Organised by CILT and the Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and
Area Studies in partnership with the University Council of Modern
Languages (UCML), the Standing Committee of Heads of Modern Languages in
Universities (SCHML), and the Association of University Language Centres
(AULC), this conference aims to bring together a wide range of
participants from the UK and internationally to exchange ideas and
strategies for addressing the challenges faced by staff in learning and
teaching, and in developing subject areas.
This conference will address the following issues:
* policy (at international, national and institutional levels)
* organisation (management and leadership, structures and
departmental strategies)
* pedagogy (methodology, approaches, innovations, use of C&IT and
pedagogical research)
* resources (materials development and technical support)
We are currently accepting proposals for papers and workshops for this
conference.
