Bioterrorism - facts and fictions

Never before has the threat posed by biological weapons been such a matter
of international public concern as it is now. In this climate science can
help clarify exactly what bioterrorism is, how effective it is as a weapon
and what measures exist to manage an attack.
Professor Harry Smith CBE, FRS, Emeritus Professor of Microbiology at
Birmingham University and Chair os the Royal Society working group on
biological weapons, is joined by Professor Malcolm Dando, Professor of
International Security at the University of Bradford's Department of Peace
Studies and Dr Pat Troop CBE, FRCP, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England
to discuss the threat of bioterrorism. The event will be chaired by Clive
Cookson, Science Editor of The Financial Times.
