OBJECTIVE
---------
The quality of software has an important bearing on the financial
and safety aspects in our daily lives. Unfortunately, software
systems often fail to deliver according to promises. It is well
known that there are still unresolved errors in many of the software
systems that we are using every day. The Asia-Pacific region is far
from being immune to these problems. The prime objective of the
conference is to provide a forum to bring together researchers and
practitioners to address this issue seriously.
BACKGROUND
----------
The First Asia-Pacific Conference on Quality Software (APAQS 2000)
was held on 30-31 October 2000 in Hong Kong as a major international
forum for quality software in the Asia-Pacific region.
Sixty-six papers were submitted to APAQS 2000 from over twenty
countries from both within and outside the Asia-Pacific region.
Thirty-three quality papers were selected by an international
program committee for presentation. The proceedings was published
by IEEE Computer Society Press.
In addition, selected papers were subsequently expanded and, after
the usual rigorous review process, four papers will be published in
a Special Issue on Quality Software of the International Journal of
Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering.
Following the success of APAQS in year 2000, the conference will be
held again in Hong Kong in 10-11 December, 2001.
CALL FOR PAPERS
---------------
We solicit FULL-LENGTH research papers and experience reports on various
aspects of quality software. Submissions must not have been published or
be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere.
All submissions will be rigorously reviewed on the basis of
originality, contribution, technical and presentation quality, and
relevance to the conference. Papers may be finally accepted as full
or short papers. The conference proceedings will be published by
IEEE Computer Society Press.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We are pleased to announce that selected papers may, subject to
further peer reviews, be published in a special issue by the
journal "Information and Software Technology" in the year 2002.
