Dear Spongers,
I appreciate all of the responses to my questions about ITS primers, etc., for
my wily Halichondria populations in Alaska. The sequences are working out
very nicely, but have added more questions to the pot. It now looks like I am
possibly dealing with two species separated by habitat PLUS an additional
subspecies/species/cryptic species within the soft-sediment habitats.
In light of this, I am looking for either ITS sequences or voucher specimens
for Halichondria spp., especially H. bowerbanki. If anyone has any they would
allow me use, that would be greatly appreciated. I am not opposed to making
this a joint project if need be.
Again, thanks to all who have put in their two cents. I apologize for not
getting back to those who have offered help, etc. Email was shut down at
the lab I was working at and I have just returned to Fairbanks.
Thanks for your time!
Ann Knowlton
