My neighborhood is no longer called "Greenwich Village."
The Mayor of NYC has designated it part of "the dead zone below 14th Street."
Although schoolchildren go back to class Monday, that is not the case for the
resident (inmates) of "the dead zone."
Thanks to a soaking rain on Friday, however, we were able to take off our
protective face masks by Sunday. Though fires still burn from WTC # 7, the
smell of charred flesh has cleared up a bit.
Flyers are everywhere: offers for free therapy, free photocopying, free
mineral water, even free private planes for relatives of the victims who need
to come to Manhattan.
Missing people number: 5,100+
Dead people [or remains] identified via DNA matches: 118.

Hal Johnson and Lynda Scorr have posted a small photographic essay -- things
seen in Greenwich Village in these terrible days. It's a slow download, but
worth it. htttp://home.earthlink.net/~halvard/911plus4.html.
