Moorilla Mosaic: contemporary Tasmanian writing - A vibrant collection of work by the 27 writers who read during the first year of the Moorilla Cultural Series, this anthology highlights the richness and diversity of current writing by established and emerging poets and prose writers across the State.
Margaret Scott was born in Bristol, UK, and emigrated to Tasmania in 1959. Although she didn't like Tasmania much when she first arrived, she now thinks it's the best place in the world. She taught at the University of Tasmania for 24 years, taking early retirement to be a full-time writer. Last year she published three books: Collected Poems (Montpelier Press), Changing Countries: collected essays and stories (ABC), and Family Album (Random House). She is currently working on a book on aging for Random House.
Angela Rockel is a New Zealander who has lived in Tasmania for many years, and whose poems have been published by Penguin Australia and in various journals and magazines. Her most recent work has been written as part of a study of the novelist, Janet Frame.
Julie Hunt is a Tasmanian writer and illustrator who lives in Melbourne. Her poems and stories have been accepted for publication by Penguin Australia, Hyland House and by a variety of journals. Most recently, Roland Harvey Books published her second picture book Away! Away! (2001).
