Not impossible, Matthew, just difficult. And often something that is forced
upon, like Eliotic 'virtue', by 'our impudent crimes'. At any rate, by the
forcing house of errors realised, and the unanswerable charges of one's own
self-interrogation.
Ethical behaviour, like self-awareness, is intermittent, and has to be
learnt hard, but one just keeps on trying.
