Have you ever heard of metaphorical language, Erminia?
I can blush too, you know, it is not something, even as metaphor, I
attribute to female stereotypes.
For the record I saw Alison's poem when it was mint-fresh, I think it
wonderful, but excessive hype can be as awkward to a poet (of any gender) as
the emptiness of silence.
