re Helen's comments
I wear a shirt in the latest pink-watermelon colour!
sounds fantastic! - to me shirts are very def worn by men - women would
say 'blouse' (is this very English?)
suggest her *conscience* is not really cool, it's rather prissy
to *care* about the world we are leaving our children
I was responding to the poem - this judgement about conscience is no part
of my viewpoint at all. It's true it is now carrying a weight well beyond
what it was ever meant to. And must be a very tired poem. I think I'm
going to let it get a little sleep berfore it has go to off on it's long
journey.
The other day when I said I write poetry to my new neighbour, he said,
"geez do they still write that stuff!"
sobering - well lets glory in the fact that we do (He wont be able to say
that again now he has met you!)
