Mark, I read you accurately on this one. By the way, I haven't got a lot
invested in definitions of neo-baroque v. post-modern, but, Erminia, the
paintings you posted a link to looked utterly post-modern to me--the reuse
of period styles with exaggeration, lurid recontextualization, reference
embedded within reference. . . It seems to me that this emphasis on names &
movements is particularly European?
