Yes, it's an important distinction, that one--voice/persona--and maybe what
Trevor was getting at with his stone/bird analogy in an earlier post, which
operates in turn as filter/packet per his electronic-inspiriting "Data
Shadows," one of my own faves. Even as it enacts the currency of such
enso(u)led foot-fixing with a paradoxically synesthetic digital aesthetic,
"Data Shadows" recalls (for me) "The Dream of the Rood," especially the
moment when the Rood (the cross-speaker of the poem) "codes" Jesus--declares
him dead--with the simple statement "shadow went forth."
I'm also fascinated by the multivocal parallel of the diverse topologies in
Trevor's work and would love to hear whatever he might care to say about
that in general or per one such topology as his lattice works (including
"Data Shadows") represent.
