I can only speak for myself, Trevor, but today's discussion has been/is
not only enjoyable, it's a high water mark in dialogue at poetryetc.
You've separated (a public display of) emotion and engaged Douglas (and
he you) in a fashion that informs. I wish I had the tact. In fact, I've
found the dialogue very instructive.
Sure, the poems will have to speak for themselves ultimately. However,
the exchanges here peak my interest in your work more than the review
now. I'm very moved by the character of the author. If that character
comes through the work (hey, especially if it isn't referential which,
if I've read you correctly today, is among your goals) I'll be a happy
camper. That's between you and me, man. I'll do us both a favor and just
stay open.
Thanks
