if it's any comfort I speak a pure non-Standard English (ie Birmingham/North
Warwickshire) but I too have difficulty in putting how I 'sound' into
written English, I have a few poems in local speech but none of them look
right on the page, tho' they go down like blazes when read aloud, if I say
so myself.
