The original formulae I gave for the pagination for a pamphlet printed as
two A5 pages on both sides of an A4 sheet involve two unnecessary sets of
collation. The following formulae fix this. Example is a 32 page pamphlet.
To generate the sequence of pages for SideA:
32 1
=(a1-2) =(b1+2)
Copy the formula six times, so that the last two cells generate: 18 15.
This gives the sequence-layout for SideA.
Start at the bottom, opposite 18 15, and in the next columns (working
upward):
=(a8+2) =(b8-2)
2 31
Copy the formula into the next six rows up.
You now have the sequence for SideB, a series of pages beginning: 16 17
Print SideA, take the sheets out of the hopper and place them directly back
in the feed [DON'T shuffle them, turn them upside down or anything, just
lift them up and put them in, blank side facing you].
Print SideB, and what emerges is in proper sequence, ready for stapling.
Again, this can be generalised for any number of pages, assuming multiples
of four.
Jeez, I +know+ this is boring, but if it had occurred to me three days ago,
I'd have saved myself SO much aggravation.

PS -- there are now 25 copies of the British Chiding stapled and folded but
not yet trimmed. Hey, nobody's perfect.
