A cross-posting this, note the hyphen, but I was fascinated today to receive
a letter from the Legal Deposit Office of the British Library _chiding_ me,
in a gently bureaucratic fashion, for not having deposited a copy of 'A
Chide's Alphabet' with them. I was quite flattered by their interest,
actually, but I'd thought such requirements only applied to print
publications, it seems tho' there is a voluntary code of practice for
on-line material, and, heavens above, the necessity of an ISSN mumber. We do
intend to create a print version of the magazine, in good time, but
obviously I shall comply with the British Library's affections, I wouldn't
want to be an _illegal_ poetry peddler, but I must say I can't work out how
'voluntary' and 'compliance' go together.
Anyone with powers of enlightment on these matters?
Best
Dave
