Right, there's no arguing with what puts you off or pulls you in--and
lord knows there are plenty of good poets going short of readers, so no need
to force yourself to appreciate those that don't grab you and refuse to let
go.

P.S. On the other hand, Graham supplies plenty of "experiential
toe-holds"--it's just that the experience occurs in the life of the mind.
(Same with Prynne, I think.)
