Like Alison, I'm reading and being dazzled by Trevor Joyce's Collected.
Also, relative to my current project of transcribing orphanage records from
the 1870 census through the 1920 one (hopefully before the 1930 census
becomes public next April) for some orphan and adoption genealogy sites, I'm
reading Gary Edward Polster's study _The Cleveland Jewish Orphan Asylum,
1868-1924_ and renewing my acquaintance with Edward Dahlberg's writings,
including his bitter and powerful accounts of growing up in the JOA.
Thanks to Susan Wheeler for starting this thread! I'm always fascinated by
discovering what other people happen to be reading; it's like peeking into
their medicine cabinets--
