I just tried listening to excerpts on the Amazon site, but a) the sound is
awful b) it's just all too "Celtic" for my present mood, plus, no
Shakespeare. While we're on Shakespeare settings: Finzi's _Let Us Garlands
Bring_ (a cycle, including "Fear no more..."on a Bryn Terfel DG CD) is my
favourite next to Britten; then there's the very avant-garde deconstruction
of a sonnet by Adriana Hölszky, only on LP, I'm afraid. The _Tempest_ ballet
by Arne Nordheim, ending mesmerizingly with Caliban's "Be not afeard"
speech, is one of my most loved & the least-known modern scores.
