"I had these two holes"...
I had these two holes in my brain
one of the two containing a worm
this worm perhaps being one of my two far relatives
called "clandestines"
who used to write mediocre essays
and who were poets
or at least this was the bad reputation
which they enjoyed
two individualists
cut off from the electoral lists
because war veterans
and probably anti-fascist combatants
and subsequently neo-capitalists
sunk into the soft lands of a superior culture of dissatisfaction
as they declared within a few hours
having found themselves in the market place
caught in the cabbages business
and having acquired a maid
that subsequently became their
concubine
now this lemon juice
sucked with a straw at the bar
between friends and clients
came to cost too much
and indeed given the rice of prices in the last 20 years
if memory fails me not
well from Genoa to Rapallo
from Capri to Portofino
lemonades are ridiculously expensive
now if by wearing their uniforms they acquired some degree of charm
this was due to their perfect hair style with a flock going downwards
towards the right side of the face
a beautiful division shared by both their parents
two former-partisans of the Friuli border
one who could speak German
the other fluent English
of a Chaucerian kind
a language currently fashionable
given the present popularity of poetry matters.
