The Salamanders. There are seven of us (flute, guitar, bass, keyboard,
two percussionists, and my various string thingies), so a regular
playing schedule is difficult. We've played at the Berkeley, the
PourHouse, Sadlack's, the Hideaway, and at parties and WellSpring Grill
'n Chills. Just finished a demo CD so we can try to do some Durham and
Chapel Hill gigs. There are some mp3s available for download (no
streaming) at http://homepage.mac.com/mandolin/FileSharing.html
Next gig is August 30 at the Hideaway on Hillsborough St. in Raleigh,
right under the 5-0.
And since you say "around here," this Friday I'm the "Special Guest" at
the Stammer, a monthly combination invitation and open mic poetry event
held at ArtSpace in downtown Raleigh. Some of it is really bad, some
pretty good. And this time I get 20 minutes to make a fool of myself.
Come and see!
Best,
Michael
