EMPIRE by Michael Hardt (Duke U.) and Antonio Negri ("Italy's most famous
living philosopher and political prisoner") was published in March 2000 by
Harvard UP and is available from amazon-dot in hardcover for $35 (used price
$24.99). The work cited by Frederick is a trio of books from the early to
mid-1990s by Manuel Castells, which are also available from amazon.
