Frank,
Bit hard to comment. Going Down Swinging is venerable now and always a good
read (they published me a few times so gotta be - that's a joke, Joyce). PiO
is great. I've heard of Adam Ford. The rest - no idea.
It's Melbourne stuff, I gather, and related to very busy reading circuit
down there but it's hardly a round-up of poetry 'Down Under' ( a term I
dislike), just as it wouldn't be if you picked up a few mags and books from
some Sydney or Brisbane or ... or ... readings and made some blanket
statement about Australian poetry. Plenty of poets don't do readings for all
sorts of reasons. In Sydney there's almost none anyway.
Maybe there's more to it but Part I of the article is missing so I'm not
sure of the point. Perhaps some Melbourne list members know more. Me, don't
get around much anymore and haven't been to Melbourne for far too long.
Great place, by the way. But you asked.
Cheers,
Jill
