Robin
Moorcock edited New Worlds. Ha. And some of his later SF is good. I've
never read the Elric etc stuff.
The thing about Ballard is that somewhat later books, from the 70s say,
like Low Flying Aircraft & Hello America continue the sardonic visionary
looks at crumbling futures that still contain a strange hopefulness that
can be quite winning...
Jones's amazing trilogy beginning with White Queen (North Wind, Phoenix
Café) is one of the classics of 90s SF, & one of the best going.
I like Neal Stephenson's last two too. & if we began sneaking over to
fantasy, I'd have a bunch more names to drop too...
Many think Harness's recent books aren't up to The Paradox Men, which I did
enjoy..., but I haven't read them...
