Wyndham (The triffids - the film of which I saw recently and had a good chuckle over) & Aldis ("The Canopy of Time" is still crumbling on my shelves), of course. JG Ballards' Vermillion Sands and Daniel Keyes' Flowers for Algernon held me for a long, long while.
