Apologies to Douglas Barbour and others! I was quietly observing as a newby
should until I found my Works discussed. Some poorly named pages on
greatworks.org.uk have now been more acceptably named, and will present no
problems. Please forgive an apprentice at HTML.
Foil has flaws, as Andrew Duncan's review exposes - but, as David Bircumshaw
pointed out its scale and claim are unmatched in recent years. Its
heterogeneity is delightful, & heroic. This also necessitates winnowing,
rather than wholesale acceptance. Nicholas Johnson, though, has set up a
very bold & positive challenge.
Please read the review - even more so read the book.
apologies again!
