The list didn't fly into a frenzy, the list finally got bored out of it's
frigging SKULL!!
Add to which, the element of (for those of us also on british-poetry), "We
have been here before".
Kent Johnson arrives and makes some interesting posts.
Soon, another person arrives (Jacques Debrot/David Hess) and KJ and The
Other become involved in a personal dialogue.
List clogged with KJ/Other emails ad nauseam.
List responds appropriately, and things revert to normal -- i.e.
discussion of poetry.

Didn't seem to me that Candice was disoriented so much as responding with a
witty and pertinent suggestion to the situation.

If this is true, it's stunningly disingenuous. Email is opaque, and all of
us manifest in different ways at the best of times. Why the hell (and,
indeed, HOW the hell) should we "see through"? -- especially given the
context in which all this happened.
Boy who cries wolf gets eaten by wolf, while villagers go on happily tending
their cabbage-patch.

(Incidentally, I've removed all blocks on mails to me -- for the moment.
For what it's worth.)
