Dream fragments--the last line or two of the masterpiece written in sleep
but immediately forgotten upon waking--have made their way into several
poems of mine, and I've written poems that recount dreams. The first poem
dream fragment I can remember went "Turandot lights the way to Shanghai/
she holds a klieg in her smile."
I also remember a dream in which I had come up with a complex stream of
thought that could save the world. Also lost with the first eyelid flutter.
I'd love to see the punctuation poem.
