-- All of this is such a waste of space. As if it mattered whether you are
an atheist or not, so what? I am not atheist, I find the term to be
positional in ways I don't wish to inhabit. In fact you might I am a
believer in all sorts of things and in all sorts of lives. G. Greene the
novelist said in an interview once that the novels of Woolf and Forster
suffered from lacking the religious dimension. Unlike the novels and
characters of Joyce and I can't remember who else he mentions. Well I cannot
stand about the view point you claim to espouse is the assumption that you
are right and that the others, the beleivers I, are wrong, misled, and
deluded. Of course that is typical of any camp which wishes to protect
itself from imaginary attacks to take that sort of stand. However, the times
of Voltaire have passed. And thank god, and besides that old roue atheist
returned to God at the end. And as I consider myself to be a daughter of
Nietzsche and a son of Blake I shall remind that Blake said that the one who
destroyed the faiths of innocents were the really evil ones in the world.
Who are you to claim that atheism is THE way; there is No one Truth in this
old planet. Really give us, or give me a break. IF someone want s to beleive
in God, well let live and live yer own way. If its about poetics and poetry
well then I say there are plenty ofthings to say and one can be polemical to
the end about bad and fake poetry written inthe name of the divine. But for
a poet to be so vehement in his atheism seems a little odd; theism and the
gods and the divine are the heart of poetry.
My point here is that often
>silence is assumed to be consent. If all of my fellow
>aetheists spoke up everytime they were offended by god
>messages the world would be a better place and the gullible
>taken in by the church might wake up, or grow up and give up
>their big daddy in the sky. In fact, had I the funds, I
>would flood the media with 'wake up to reality' messages in
>opposition to all the god recruiting that goes on in the
>media.
>
>I have no idea who the 'poessayist' is, or what a
>'poessayist' is? As for mimicking, I wish I had the talent!
>
>As some of us say in the down under, what does 'have a nut'
>mean??
>
>Something warm and fuzzy to make up for it...
>
>Josephine
>PS R, I liked the elves too.

In Other words for my money its about bad poetry and not the political
correctness of any One view: So hop hip hooray for Gerard Manly Hopkins, and
Dylan Thomas andthe other great religious poets. Languages of the poem are
infinite. By the way I am black and not atheist. And my name is Christine
Duffy, and Clifford Duffy is my lesbian brother the atheist. We are the sons
of Jean Genet out Fatherwho Art in Heaven. Pater Noster MamaMia.
Beauty has no other origin than the singular wound, different in every case,
hidden or visible, which each man bears within himself, which he preserves,
and into which he withdraws when he wants to leave the world for a temporary
but authentic solitude....[A]rt seems to me determined to discover this
secret wound in each being and even in each thing....Jean Genet
My wound existed before me, I was born to embody it.
