Obviously of interest to poets. . . so I forward this draft manifesto. . .

Subject: SURRENDER NOW!
Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 22:26:51 +1000
An International Call to Action:
FREE DRUGS NOW!
The war on drugs has been lost!
We demand the immediate unconditional surrender of the United States
Government, the United Nations body responsible for anti-drug policy and all
national governments who are party to the UN anti drugs treaty.
We call on drug users, supporters of drug users and free drug advocates, in
all nations, to form autonomous groups free from state control and to draw up
lists of demands to which the above national governments must submit.
We call on these autonomous groups to begin organising any actions they
see necessary to secure the unconditional surrender of their national
government and the unconditional cessation of any participation in the war on
drugs.
Such actions may include demonstrations and mass actions on the streets,
civil disobedience, media campaigns, cyber activism and if the need and
possibility demands it, for example, due to the corruption of democratic
processes by the war on drugs, armed struggle and the overthrow of national
governments who refuse to surrender. Each autonomous group must decide what
is necessary for its own specific situation.
A list of possible demands may include:
The immediate repeal of all anti drugs laws
The immediate release of all prisoners of war now held in
anti-drug state prisons
The immediate abolition of all anti-drugs United Nations
organisations
The unconditional right to possess, use, distribute, produce and
manufacture all currently outlawed drugs
The immediate cessation of all state sponsored anti-drug propaganda
The end to all forms of discrimination against drug users
An end to forced detoxification programs and state sponsored forms of
chemical warfare, such as enforced methadone dependency
Any treatment for possible problems related to drug use must be the
free decision of people who are free to choose treatments of
their preference and in accordance with their needs
The refusal of any rights of the state to intervene in the lives of
drug users by using drug use, possession, distribution and production
as an excuse
The immediate abolition of drug enforcement branches and agencies of
any and all national and international police bodies
A war crimes tribunal, run by drug users and supporters, to
investigate human rights abuses carried out by national governments,
their representatives and the United Nations during the war on drugs
Not the church, not the state, users shall decide their fate!
FREE DRUGS NOW!

free drug supporters and advocates are invited to use this document and make
