You know, Kent, the Duemer / dumber rhyme has been exploited since jr high
school--a little obvious for someone with your sophistication. One close
friend in college used to work all sorts of variations on my name into our
conversations--an entire universe of apt mispronunciations that got more
inventive as the evening wore on (if you know what I mean)--but never did he
descend to the vulgarity of dumb / Duemer. And my friend was no poet, but
turned out to be a carpenter. As for Inelegance, I am sure I don't know what
you mean--the reference, perhaps, to my own forthcoming publication in a
leading cultural journal? Surely you would be the last person on the planet
(unless your are pathologically unreflective) to object, given your habit of
kindly informing list members of your latest publications. You also seemed
to criticize my rhyming "dumb" with "some" & there I bow to the charge of
inelegance, but I can still rhyme Johnson & johnson. And they make, um,
personal lubricants.
