Yes, it is on the money. Throw in a few bribes for Rural Orstraya (beer,
petrol and BAS forms) and Howard was on a winner. September 11 just added
the icing - then he could run a total scare campaign, capitalising on our
nation's admirable qualities of xenophobia, racism et al, and win back the
votes he lost last election to Hanson.
The thing about cynicism in politics here is that it's right on the surface
and nobody seems to protest. Even the rhetoric is cynical.
Looking forward to HP, and working away on my own version of politics.
Subversion is all now, even in this petty place, which Ms Jones describes
so accurately. I think Seinfeld said that too.
