List of remedies (first bunch)
1. calculate the dimension of the excesses which will help specify
the irreducible and intrinsically subversive vocation and role of poetry.
2. evaluate the dilemmas of the medium left-wing intellectual
occurred between 1940 and 1981.
3. ponder the risks of today’s burning void.
4. put one against the other all verifiable shortages.
5. Attempt an heretical interpretation of Aeschylus’ texts and of the
conflicts between matriarchal and patriarchal societies in relation to who
is who and why one tries to undermine or silence the other.
First example: From the Cadmea rock in the city of Thebes
Eteocle, king and usurper: “ Men of Cadmo! I say, make gradually ready all
possible remedies: it is a duty for those who are cautious, faithful to
their engagements to the State (of Poetry). From the bridge, pilot the
country, manoeuvring the steering wheel, and keep your restless eyelashes
frozen and motionless! Treasure no rest.”
Words with which Aeschylus’s tragedy about the seven men against Thebes,
the last of his Oedipal trilogy, begins.
The seven men: “We are with him (with Eteocle) following what the State and
its law command. Yes - after the Celestial ones, and the throne of Zeus.
This man tore from the abyss the country of Thebes which otherwise would
overflow with tides, foreign invaders, armies, incapable of finding
shelter.”
