>Artists are extraordinarily good lovers, whatever their preferences. Any

But do their lovers agree?
Sufism, the only religion to beatify poets, privileges transgressive love
as a necessary stage on the path to God. Passionate sexual love, of
whatever orientation, is certainly seen as a transgressive energy in the
mores of our society, it challenges too many boundaries, and is strongly
discouraged - being split off into the parodic polarities of "romantic
love" or pornography, or just sedated in the aneasthetic ideal of
marriage.
