Re: super glues for clinical use, there are 2 or 3 on the market. One is
Histacryl another is Indermil (made by Loctite I believe).
Yes they probably are a normal super glue at an inflated price. They are
very effective at closing small wounds and healing takes place over
several days. When the glue comes into contact with blood and fluids heat
is generated so be careful not to use on too large an opening as it would
be very painful. I had a 1.5 cm cut on my forehead and nearly went through
the roof when it was applied.
The correct technique requires that opposing edges are brought as close
together as possible and then covered with a small overlap. After about 30
seconds retaining pressure can be relaxed and the new position should be
retained.
How well this can be done to thick non elastic skin I would be interested
to hear.
