Hi James
An article in International Journal of Sports Psychology if you haven't come
across it which might be a good starting point:
Meyer,B & Wenger.M.S (1998) Athletes and Adventure Education: An Empirical
Investigation. International Journal of Sports Psychology. Vol 29: 243-266.
Interested further in this relationship as I have had some involvement in the
training of sport psychologists, and have considered ways in which adventure
education can enhance their training programmes and development of skills as
sports psychologists, so if come across further references be interested to
hear what they are.
I also wonder whether comparisons / links can be made between the training of
adventure based athletes in understanding these themes further .. e.g research
in the coaching of olympic kayakers .. might be slightly tangental, however,
might have some links ???
