My experience and observations of OE research would concur wholeheartedly with
Randall's comments - OE and camping research are the same stubborn, recalcitrant
beast stuck in the mud and most are unwilling to do much about its predicament.
I am more optimistic than that of course, but I applaud Randall for
identifying the beast's delinquency and, more importantly for his excellent
efforts (see his website) to provide tools and methods for a more professional
future. Roger's efforts and website are also worth our collective
applause. Let's join with them and one day we may move on and see organisations
which value 'educational auditing' as much as they currently seem to value
'safety auditing' and 'financial auditing'.
Cheers,
James
