Dear List
I was intrigued by a report of the recent appeal case about asbestos exposure
and mesothelioma ( Fairchild V Glenhaven Funeral Services Ltd and others [2001-
EWCA 1881].
The overall issue laid down in the judgement seems clear enough but I'm not sure
about one part as reported in The Independent.
".....handing down the judgement of the court, said that mesothelioma, unlike
asbestosis and pneumoconiosis, was a single indivisible disease."
Be grateful if anybody could clarify what exactly this means; is it medical
concept or a legal one?
