Dear List - this advertisement will appear in the BMJ shortly. It's a very exciting opportunity to work with me to develop the OHS. Please pass it on to people you feel might be interested - Kate
Occupational Physician/Deputy Director of Occupational Health
Salary scale £50,810 - £66,120 pro rata
Due to expansion of the service, we are creating a new post of Occupational Physician/Deputy Director of the OHS. The postholder will work closely with the head of service, Dr K M Venables, on clinical and policy issues. Applicants should be on the specialist register in occupational medicine, or within three months of their CCST. The University presents a very wide range of occupational hazards and working cultures and the work of the OHS is stimulating. The OHS provides a service to staff, visitors, students, and some external organisations. It has an spR in post and three OHNs and is located in central Oxford. The University's library, computing and staff development facilities are excellent and it offers a contributory pension scheme. The post is currently funded for up to half-time hours (though there may be some flexibility in these arrangements) and for up to three years (though extension beyond this time is possible). It may be possible to arrange an honorary academic and/or NHS link, according to the individual's experience and interests. Interested people should contact Dr K M Venables to discuss the post (telephone 01865 282679 or 227034 or [log in to unmask]). Further particulars from the OHS administrator, Mrs Janet Mead (telephone 01865 282677 or [log in to unmask]). Closing date - not fixed yet but probably mid-September.
