Colleagues:
I don't agree at all with Nick Davis' description of the List as "drivel",
- pretty offensive to those of us taking part, and in my experience
totally untrue of the very valuable exchanges or relevant information
(and with few if any "spams").
However, the answer to his question is that Nick Davis himself (and
each other individual subscriber) "controls" the List and is responsible
for removing himself from it (as is the case with almost all of the more
than 50,000 listservs of this kind "out there").
I have copied below the information & procedures file sent to everybody on
joining the List (with the request to save it for future reference and
action - such as wanting to leave the list). (Note that to activate server
commands there should be nothing else in the message other than the
appropriate command - nothing in "Subject" and no signature file etc.
