quick request: i'm temporarily working as an economic advisor regarding
integrated return of displaced peoples to rural areas of northwest bosnia.
part of the integrated return program involves self-help solidarity groups
for house reconstruction. as such, i'm seeking any "lessons learned" from
others who have worked with such groups (specifically for house
reconstruction) that may be valuable in forming groups for our next
project.
gratefully,
bob alexander
NB: i understand that USAID/Honduras had a seminar entitled "Lessons
Learned in Self-Help Housing Reconstruction" which included design flaws
discovered by local NGOs after Hurricane Mitch, but i can't find any
documentation of the results anywhere.
