A postdoctoral research position is available immediately in the
laboratory of Prof. Roger Miller at the University of North Carolina. The
research involves the study of tropospheric and stratospheric aerosols
(funded by an EPA STAR Grant and the NASA Upper Atmospheres Research
Program). Research will focus on determining aerosol optical and
microphysical properties using combinations of conventional and
step-scan Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, tunable diode
laser (TDL) spectroscopy, laser induced heating and visible light
scattering methods. Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. in
chemistry, atmospheric science, or a related field. Applicants should
send CV and two letters of recommendation to Dr. Roger E. Miller,
University of North Carolina, Department of Chemistry, CB 3290 Kenan and
Venable Laboratories, Chapel Hill, NC 27599 USA. Phone: (919) 962-0528;
