Our community teams for people with learning disabilities have two Asian
linkworkers / advocates to link health and social services with the local
Mirpuri and Punjabi Pakistani communities in High Wycombe and Chesham. The
link workers are Mrs Sabia Khaliq 01494 426997 and Mrs Azra Malik 01494
586408
We have had a project worker (project now finished) who looked into / set up
systems for the day care /education needs of Pakistani women with a learning
disability post-16. This centred around moving the targeted service from a
social services' day centre setting to within a local college of HE.
Details can be obtained from the project worker's supervisor, Ms Magda
Sereda on 01494 426917
We are currently running (5 sessions so far) a relaxation / education group
with Pakistani mothers with children with a learning disability in the
Chesham area. Details from Ms Ruth Wacholder on 01494 426917
