Dear All
Here is a synthesis/collection of email replies to the JISC mailing list
about Cancer and Ethnic Minorities.
1. I am working with Dr Papadopoulos on a pilot study exploring the
personal health beliefs and experiences of six cancer sufferers and
their carers from different ethnic groups. We have collected literature
on cancer and minority ethnic populations so if there is anything
specific you are interested in please let me know.

expected to be available sometime in July. As part of the
dissemination, we are holdiing a one day conference in October, in
Leeds, and a half day event in Leicester. please let me know
whether you or your colleagues might be interested and we can put
you on our mailing list.
Please feel free to contact in case you wish to discuss your work.

11. I was commissioned last week by Luton Health Action Zone to carry
out a needs assessment of cancer services for minority ethnic
groups. The work also involves obtaining the communities'
perspectives on developing appropriate cancer services and cancer
information. We've got until the end of October to complete the work.
It would be useful if we could pool resources and share information
on relevant literature and models of good practice in the UK. I'm
waiting for information from the Cancer Research Campaign and an
organisation called Cancer Black Care.
I would be grateful if you could forward on any responses to your
request for literature in the area.
All the best
