This one-day conference is aimed at all Health Professionals who encounter
refugees and asylum seekers in the course of their work. The conference
aims to address how best to deliver care to this group. It will
address the way in which refugees and asylum seekers interact with the
often confusing legal aspects of the UK asylum system. It will explore
the role played by Health Professionals in these matters and outline how
Health Professionals might properly frame reports and other documentation
so as best to assist refugees and asylum seekers in their contact with
legal systems in both the UK and country of origin. Speakers include
representatives from Legal, Nursing, Psychiatric and General Practice
backgrounds. The aim is to provide a multidisciplinary approach.
