Dear Peter
I cannot give you any direct help on Raspe and Dolaucothi. I can say that
in The Trevithick Society Journal No 4 (1976) there is a short but involved
article by Rodney Law on how he identified an anonymous German account of
Cornish copper mining to be by Raspe. Possibly this article might give you
a lead on Dolaucothi.
I do not know if this has been mentioned before on this Mailist but it is
claimed that Raspe wrote 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen' at a time when
Raspe was employed at the Assay Office, Dolcoath Mine, Cornwall. Strange
but
true(?).
